Know Your Options for Imaging Referrals

Why Choose MRI at WMRMC?

High-Resolution Imaging • No Radiation Exposure • Advanced Diagnostic Accuracy

What Can an MRI Detect?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an essential tool for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including:

Neurological Conditions

Brain and spinal cord disorders, multiple sclerosis, and stroke detection.

Musculoskeletal Injuries

Joint injuries, ligament tears, muscle damage, and bone infections.

Internal Organ Evaluation

Heart, liver, kidneys, and abdominal imaging for tumors and abnormalities.

What to Expect During Your MRI

MRIs are non-invasive, safe, and provide incredibly detailed images for accurate diagnoses.

  • Preparation: You may be asked to remove metal objects and wear a hospital gown.
  • The Scan: You will lie on a table that moves inside the MRI scanner. The machine uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to capture images.
  • Duration: Most MRI scans take between 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Comfort: The scan is painless, though you may hear rhythmic tapping noises. Earplugs or headphones may be provided.
  • Results: A radiologist will review your images and send a detailed report to your doctor.

Is MRI Right for You?

MRI is ideal for evaluating soft tissues, nerves, and blood vessels with high precision. However, if you have metal implants or medical devices, consult with your provider before scheduling an MRI.
