In case you haven’t heard yet, Dr. Jacob Oldham, Board certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a subspecialty in sports medicine, will be joining us every Tuesday at the Rural Health Clinic. Dr. Oldham is a man of many talents and passions with a deep desire to serve and better the lives of those around him. With 20 years of experience in Orthopedic Medicine and a twice-deployed war veteran, we think he’s up to the task.
Dr. Jacob Oldham’s life and career has been one driven by his desire to better the lives of those around him. This purpose-driven approach to life led him to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. It also led him to serve a mission for his church where he discovered his passion for helping others. He wanted to continue offering compassionate and healing service to those around him, and thus he began the journey to becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. After graduating Top of his class at the Air Force Academy Dr. Oldham completed his MD at the prestigious Mayo Clinic. He then went on to serve 14 years in the Air Force as an Orthopedic Surgeon. During his time in the Military Dr. Jacob Oldham was deployed in support of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Some may ask why he chose orthopedic medicine. Human movement and performance is actually something near and dear to his heart. As an endurance athlete himself he intimately understands the full beauty and gift of human movement and what it would mean to lose that capacity. His desire is to keep people actively engaged in their lives. As an endurance athlete, Dr. Oldham has completed several Iron man triathlons, 75 & 100 mile running races, and frequently completes a 48-mile event in the Grand Canyon known as R3. It can and should be said that Dr. Oldham doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. We're privileged to have a provider of Dr. Oldham's caliber and empathy dedicated to strengthening our community's health and vitality.
